Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Supported independent living for Parramatta and the Hills. You set the goals. Family can visit.
SIL, which means supported independent living, is help with daily life in a shared home. You have your own room in a shared home. It can be funded through your NDIS plan, depending on your goals and budget.
You choose the goals. Maybe that is cooking your own dinner or catching the bus to work. We work on them with you day to day. We check them with you along the way.
What this looks like day to day
-
Help planned around your day
Support fits your routine. You do what you can, and we help with the rest.
-
Choosing housemates together
We think carefully about who lives together. We talk with you about the household before you move in.
-
Visiting our homes
Family and friends are welcome. As an adult, you choose who visits and when. We agree visiting times with you and your housemates.
What the support can cover
Every plan is different, so we plan the mix with you. This support can include:
- Personal care and daily living support
- Help with cooking, cleaning and shopping
- Building everyday living skills at your pace
- Getting to appointments, work and activities
- Keeping in touch with family and friends
- Setting and reviewing goals with you and your family
How we work together
We start by listening. Then we change things as your goals change.
-
We get to know you
What a good day looks like, what you want to work on and who matters to you.
-
We talk about our homes
We tell you about our homes, the shared spaces and which rooms are open.
-
You move in
We plan the move with you and introduce the people who will support you.
-
We review your goals
We check your goals with you, and with your family if you want. Your support changes as you grow.
