Community Participation
NDIS community participation in Parramatta and the Hills. Get out, see people and do more of what you enjoy.
Community participation covers outings, hobbies, classes and errands. It might be a walk in Parramatta Park, a library class or local footy.
You lead. You might want to catch the Metro from Rouse Hill on your own. You might want to try something new or have good company along the way. We plan the support around what matters to you.
What this looks like day to day
-
Your interests first
We start from what you enjoy and build from there. You choose the activities.
-
Building independence
If you want to, we work toward you doing more on your own. That might be catching the bus or doing the shopping start to finish.
-
Making local connections
Getting out of the house is part of it. Making friends and feeling at home in your community matter too.
What the support can cover
Every plan is different, so we plan the mix with you. This support can include:
- Outings, events and social activities
- Hobbies, classes and interest groups
- Using buses, trains and the Metro
- Volunteering and getting ready for work
- Sport, swimming and staying active
- Support to join local clubs and groups
How we work together
We start by listening. Then we change things as your goals change.
-
We start with what you enjoy
The things you already love, and the things you have always wanted to try.
-
We plan it around you
Your pace, your energy and your comfort level. Some days are big and some are quiet.
-
We build confidence gently
If independence is your goal, we step back a little more each time you are ready.
-
We review your goals
As your interests change, we change what we do together.
Who this support suits
Community participation suits anyone who wants more connection, more confidence out and about, or more of the things they enjoy. It can work alongside your other supports or on its own. How much support you can use depends on your NDIS plan.
How we work
“You choose where to go. We go with you at your pace.”

Common questions
Here are the questions we hear most. If yours is not here, ask us.

Can I decide what we do?
Yes. Your interests lead, and we help make it happen. You can change your mind as you go.
Can you help me build up to doing things on my own?
Yes. We step back slowly, at a pace that feels safe. Nobody rushes you.
How much support can I get?
It depends on your NDIS plan. Budgets can change when a plan is renewed. We help you see what your plan covers before support starts.
